the unkindest cut of all?

"This was the unkindest cut of all."

--From Julius Caesar (III, ii, 187)

Some countries and cultures still practise male circumcision, despite the fact that many people view it as an old-fashioned, barbaric, cruel custom (including some people that I know personally).

However, recent research has shown that circumcision can reduce the chance of men being infected by HIV, by about 60%. And that is not insignificant.

"This is an extraordinary development," said the appropriately named Dr. Kevin de Cock, director of the World Health Organization's AIDS department. "Circumcision is the most potent intervention in HIV prevention that has been described."

Some interesting research

Kudos to the North Carolina State University, who showed that women who perform the act of fellatio and swallow semen on a regular basis, one to two times a week, may reduce their risk of breast cancer by up to 40 percent (read the entire article here). Not only that, it seems that a regular dose of semen can relieve depression and lower the risk of preeclampsia (dangerously high blood pressure that sometimes accompanies pregnancy).

This is truly a breakthrough in the fight against disease, and I'm sure that men all over the world are willing to make the sacrifice, if it will help women lower their risk of disease.

More on Creationism Vs Evolution

You gotta love the holy war between creationists and evolutionists. What other holy war can provide so much to laugh at?

Take for example the subject on adding a disclaimer to textbooks that teach evolution.

How can you not laugh at examples like these:

And then of course the evolutionists cannot help but hit back:

The truth about fossils

Creationists do not accept the theory of evolution, preferring to believe that the world was created in seven days, blah blah etc etc.

However they never successfully explained why, if the world is so young, are there things like fossils.

The recent discovery of a large amount of fossilized eggs has finally put this problem to rest.

Well, that explains the fossilized dinosaurs, now all we need are some fossilized professor eggs...
